Dennis Ast, CPCU, CCIC
Senior Account Executive Cyber Risk Specialist at OneGroup
Dennis Ast has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. He spent significant time employed by a national
insurance carrier, working his way up from claims adjuster to account manager, with complete responsibility over national accounts, including retention,
relationship development, service, and risk management.
Dennis was hired by OneGroup in 2017 as a Senior Account Executive. He was uniquely qualified for this position due to his years of experience and his
enthusiasm for continuously expanding his knowledge. Dennis actively seeks opportunities to help his clients reduce their overall cost of risk by developing a deep understanding of their business and risk management needs. He has become an expert resource for cyber insurance, among other topics, for both
his colleagues and clients.
Honing in on cyber insurance, Dennis has completed multiple speaking engagements on this topic over the past few years and has developed resources to better position his clients to obtain the necessary cyber insurance. He makes it a priority to explain the negative impact that a cyber breach can have on an organization and stays up to date on the current cyber trends by interacting with cyber carriers, industry leaders, and cyber security experts. He also consumes cyber-focused articles, white papers, and podcasts on a regular basis.
He works hard to help clients understand the various cyber policies, as each cyber carrier has their own language and coverages. He is well-versed in all of these nuances in order to advise clients on the positives and potential negatives of each policy option.
Dennis graduated from the State University College at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and earned his Masters Degree from Boston
University in Insurance Management. Dennis completed Chubb and Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy’s
